So just how does the other half live??
We visited Asheville, NC and went to the Biltmore Estate. It is a historical landmark built by George Vanderbilt. The day was gorgeous and, since it was off-season, there were no crowds. There were no cameras allowed on the inside, however the views of the outside grounds were breathtaking.
As we walked through on the tour it was obvious that this was a family that truly had unlimited amounts of money. It was a real lesson in what you could build if your only limitation was your imagination. From the great halls, to the servant’s quarters…the many kitchens and the gardens….it was rather impressive.
We also drove through part of the historical district of Asheville and ate lunch at a quirky little cafe called the Books and Breadboard. In all it was a nice day.
