Known as the Hostess City of the South, Savannah has a way of turning strangers into friends and making visitors feel right at home. One of the coolest things about the city is that most of it is considered an official historical district. This makes it one of the largest district of its kind in the country.
We went to the city on St. Patrick’s Day eve – the weather was glorious. We decided the best way to see everything, without walking ourselves to death, was to take a trolley tour. You can ride around the city, get off at designated stops…walk around…and then board another trolley. It allowed us to see one of the prettiest cities in the country. We were totally exhausted after a full day of touring.
Most of the day we were hunting for shade because of the heat. We can only imagine how hot it gets here in August.
