When spring arrives, stores begin to stock a larger variety of fruits and vegetables that are actually from the current growing season. They are not all frozen or shipped in from South America….food that is actually grown in the U.S.A.
Our current neighbor (who is also the campground host) informed us there was a place down the road that has strawberries to purchase including picking them ourselves, if we want.
We went and saw they were selling a lot of fresh produce. We asked how much of it was local. The young lady explained the strawberries were from there but most of the other produce was just starting to arrive from Florida and southern Georgia for this season.
Everything looked pretty fresh, so I guess spring is officially here.
