Going Primal

We have decided to embrace our new lifestyle and be more active and healthy. Everyday we are doing something other than sit on the couch. We are hiking, biking and working out. We are also attempting to follow the basic rules of the “Primal” or “Paleo” diet.

The primal diet emphasizes the foods that have been with us since the beginning of time and eliminate (or reduce) the intake of foods that have been introduced into our food supply in the last few hundred years.

This diet consists mainly of fish, grass-fed pasture raised meats, vegetables, fruit, roots, and nuts, and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oils. So far it is going well with our biggest challenge being trying to develop recipes that we like.

It’s so easy a caveman could do it.
