We see a lot of signs that remind us where we are located as we travel.
Orchards, vineyards, farms and fruit stands thrive in this area of Michigan. There are also Amish communities nearby.
We see reminders that we are only a few miles from Lake Michigan . . . and in the winter that means snow. This area of the state receives an average of over 75 inches per year so there are signs to help find the fire hydrants and remind us that it is legal to drive your snowmobile along the sides of most of the roads.
Throw in a few hundred deer crossing warning signs….and you know you are in Michigan.
