Hot Fun In The Summertime – Sly & The Family Stone – 1969
With a mellow, funky horns and bassline and soulful vocals, Sly & the Family Stone’s easy-going hit entered the Hot 100 the same month the group played the most iconic summer festival of all time, Woodstock. In the tune, each member expresses a line about what they love most about summer. – Billboard.com
Labor Day has come to be celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. According to Wikipedia…in high society, Labor Day is (or was) considered the last day of the year when it is fashionable to wear white.
Here we are a few days after Labor Day and it was 80 degrees! We are only 10 miles from Lake Michigan beaches….so it was a no-brainer.
Time to put some sand between the toes.
We arrived at a little township beach and we had it all to ourselves. The rest of the world is working or attending school. College students are back in their dorms and the teenyboppers are someplace else.
Very pleasant afternoon with just me and my girl friend.
