“Addicted to Love” is a song by Robert Palmer released in 1986. The song has now become known as his signature song, thanks in part to a highly popular video featuring high fashion models. Other artists have released versions since. – Wikipedia
What would cause a couple in their early 60’s to travel 10 hours round-trip to attend a Christmas open house at an Indianapolis elementary school and a superhero birthday party for a 7 and 5 year old?
It must be love.
After spending the last four months in Michigan with three of our grandchildren we were anxious to connect with the other four in the Indianapolis area. So when we heard there was going to be a superhero party and everyone would be there…..well it was a “must attend” social event.
We drove to Indianapolis from Kentucky on Friday and helped a little with the party prep, but it was pretty much under control. On Saturday morning we attended the holiday open house at our granddaughter’s school. There were arts and crafts activities and Christmas cookies everywhere. We had fun watching the girls make some Christmas crafts.
Then it was time for the big birthday party. The party was organized around the theme of superheroes and the basement was transformed into a training center where each child learned how to do some special feat. They designed their own capes, ate birthday cupcakes and helped the boys open their gifts. It was a success.
We drove back to Kentucky knowing that in a couple of weeks we will do it again for our family Christmas celebration.
We’re gonna have to face it, we’re addicted to love.
