We wanted to visit the Naval Aviation Museum just 14 miles south of our campground. Mary’s brother (Dan) and wife (Jo) and their RV were in Gulf Shores, AL so they met us at the museum. They found a doggie day-care center for their dog Zeke and we were good to go.
We were not expecting many visitors since this is the off-season, however the parking lot was almost full. This museum was huge and had aircraft from all the major periods of Naval history. Everything was up close and available for you to check out and FREE.
We got our exercise and met some nice people during our visit. Of course we purchased some post cards for the grandchildren and our required souvenir magnet for the special wall in the RV!
After the museum we headed out for some lunch at a local Mexican restaurant then Dan and Jo left to pick up Zeke. We’ll see them at the end of the month when we move our RV to Gulf Shores. We drove back through the military base on our way home, saw the old lighthouse and the military cemetery.
