We spent the summer camped near St. Joseph, Michigan and the beautiful sandy beaches found in the area. Every time someone came to visit we took them to the lighthouses found in St. Joe or South Haven. Walking out to the end of the lighthouse pier, feeling the sun, looking at the water and beaches is a wonderful way to get a sense of Lake Michigan life.
About eight weeks ago (56 days) friends from Indiana came for a visit. We enjoyed the Indian summer weekend and paid St. Joseph a visit…which included a lovely sunny walk to the lighthouse.
Just a few days into January, with some below normal temperatures, the South Bend Tribune published a series of pictures of the lighthouse in the grip of pure Michigan frigid winter 2013.
It was a good reminder of one of the reasons we are enjoying the RV lifestyle.
